Besan halwa : Gluten free halwa
Hello readers🙏🏻 Long time! Today I am gonna share besan halwa recipe. Its with less ghee and we all know that chickpea flour / besan is gluten free.Its easy to make and you can make it for guests or any pooja at your home. Lets get started.
Ingredients we need:
1.Besan/ chickpea flour- 1 cup( not full 1 cup)
2.Rawa/ sooji/ semolina( be it fine or thick)-2 tsps
3.Ghee-1/2 cup
4.Cardamom/ Elaichi -4-5( crushed/ powdered)
5.Dry fruits-badam and pista( or upon your wish)
6.Sugar-1/2 cup or less than that or jaggery powder
7.Dessicated coconut-2 tsps
8.Milk-1 tsp
9.Hot water -1 cup
Preparation:20-25 mins( serves-3)
1.First of all take a heavy bottomed pan or iron kadai. Add ghee( don't add all the ghee at a time ). Leave1-2 tsps ghee in the cup itself.Now take 1 cup water and boil it on other side. And keep it aside.
2.Add Besan and sooji and roast it on low flame. Just keep roasting it till it starts melting. It will take 10 mins.
3.After 10-12 mins, our besan will be roasted ( should get blonde color) and smell should come.
4.Now add 1 tsp milk and mix it well.
5.Add 1/2 cup sugar or slighly more or less acc to your taste.
6.Let the sugar melt.Now add the hot water to the mixture (app 3/4 cup)
7.Keep mixing it so that it doesn't forms lumps. Now you will see that the halwa is becoming thick. So that the left hot water.Roast the dry fruits in 1 tsp ghee before itself.
8. Add crushed elaichi powder to the halwa. Add the roasted almonds and pista.
9.Finally add the dessicated coconut or if you have fresh coconut, just grate it.
10.Our halwa is ready to be served.
Note:
1.The besan should be roasted only on low flame. It should be stirred continously.
2.Add sugar or Jaggery powder acc to your taste.
3.Add more hot water to the halwa if you feel its thick in consistency.
