Pink Tikki -Healthy Evening Snacks
Hey blog members🙏🏻Today I am going to share a healthy snacks recipe with very less oil. This is the recipe I tried for the first time and it was good. But why this is called"Pink ", it has a natural pink colour. Let's begin the recipe. Lets get started..
Source : Google
As I forgot to take the last snap of my tikki but moreover it was like this.
Ingredients reqd:.
1.Boiled potatoes -5-6(Small)
2.Beetroot -1(big size)-grated
3.carrot -1(chopped finely)
4.Green chilli-2-3(finely chopped)
5.Ginger+garlic (6 pods-1/2 inch ginger)( minced well )/gg paste-1 tsp
6.Some masalas: Salt( as per taste ), Red chilli powder -1 tsp, kashmiri red chilli powder- 1 tsp, jeera -1/2 tsp, ajwain( carom seeds )-1/2 tsp, fennel seeds-1/2 tsp, amchoor powder-1 tsp/ dry mango powder,Jeera powder -1/2 tsp, Lemon juice-1 tsp, coriander+Mint leaves( for garnishing)
7.Bread slices-4-5
8.Rice flour /Corn flour ( as reqd for binding)
9.Spinach leaves-1/cup( washed and grated well), Onion-1/2( chopped well)
Oil for cooking.
Preparation( serves-3,Time taken: 25-30 mins)
1.Take a pressure cooker and boil the potatoes.
Tip: Dont overboil the potatoes otherwise it will release more starch so that the tikkis will become watery and won't come out good.
2.Take the boiled potatoes in a big bowl and mash them, add the grated beetroot, carrot, ginger- garlic and chopped spinach.
3.Now add the masalas: red chilli powder, jeera powder, fennel seeds and all the other dry masalas, add salt at last so that water is not released.
4.Start mixing them well. Now take one bread slice and dip into water, squeeze it well and add the bread slices into the mixture. Add 3-4 bread slices and mix them well.
5.Now see whether the mixture is liquidy or solid. If its sticking to your palms, add rice flour/ corn flour for binding the tikkis.
6.Now add lemon juice, salt and onions to the tikki mixture.
7.Now place the non-stick tawa on the heat on medium flame. Apply oil on your palms and shape the tikkis well.
8.Now place the round tikkis on the tawa and apply oil to the tikkis and roast it well on both the sides.
9.Our tikkis will be ready by 5-7 minutes.
10.I just forgot to take the final tikki pic on my mobile.
11.Serve the pink tikki with ketchup/ green chutney.
Note:
1.Everything depends on binding. Just bind it well with either rice flour/corn flour/ besan.
2.I used rice flour and besan because I felt the mixture was too sticky.
3.You can even deep fry the tikkis in oil.
Just try this pink tikki as a evening snack and you can add other veggies like grated carrot, methi leaves, grated bottle gourd, grated potatoes.
Meet you in next blog with other recipe.
