DALIYE KA CHEELA / BROKEN WHEAT CHEELA -BREAKFAST/DINNER
Hey Blog members ! In this series of healthy recipes ,today I am going to share my own invented recipe of daliye ka cheela.which is very healthy and full of veggies.
I do like daliya (gud / jaggery wala) which my MIL makes and she pours ghee over it which will be so tasty.
I never liked daliya in childhood but now I kind of like it when she makes it(kudos to her).
Ok lets move to the recipe,Lets get started..
Ingredients reqd:
1.Broken Wheat/Daliya/Godumai Ravai(In Tamil)-1 Cup
2.Sour curd -1 cup
3.Veggies : Carrot,Tomato,Onion,Capsicum ( chopped finely)and green chilies-1-2,Ginger(grated)-1/2 inch,Coriander /Mint leaves(for garnishing)
4.Masalas Reqd: Salt(as per taste),Cumin seeds(jeera)-1/2 tspoon,Red Chili powder-1/2 tspoon,Chat masala( for taste).
5.ENO-1 sachet/Baking soda-3 pinch
6.Rice flour-2-3 tspoons,Sooji-1/4 cup
7.Oil for cooking
Lets begin..
Preparation (Time taken: 20-30 mins)
1.First take the wheat daliya and start dry roasting it till it gets brown and the smell also starts coming out.This step is very important as it should be roasted well otherwise it will taste raw.( It will take 10-12 mins to roast)
2.Now keep it aside till it gets cooled completely .Now grind the daliya ,Rice flour and sooji along with curd and salt(as it will be lump free and easy to mix).
3.Add water acc to the consistency of uttapam /cheela batter( neither too thick, nor too thin).
4.Now pour the batter into a big bowl and add cumin seeds,red chilli powder and chat masala and the veggies,grated ginger and coriander leaves.
5.Add baking soda to the mixture now itself and keep the batter aside for 15 mins.
6.If you want to add ENO you can add it atlast .Now check the batter after 15 mins,it must be thick and water will be absorbed by this time.
7.Now you can add water and adjust the consistency.
8.Now take a nonstick tawa and let it heat well .Apply oil to the tawa and pour the batter and spread evenly and cook till it gets completely cooked on one side.
9.Flip it on the other side and ccok it well .This process will take 3 minutes each side.
10.Our cheela is ready to serve with chutney/ketchup.
