Sooji Vegetable pakoda : crispy evening snack
Hey foodies!Welcome to Plates of flavours blog. Today I am going to share an evening snacks which can be prepared easily. We all make pakoda/fritters from besan( gram flour) most of the times but have you tried from sooji/ semolina. Lets begin the recipe. Let's get started.
Ingredients reqd:
1.Sooji/Semolina-1 cup
2.Curd-1/2 cup
3.Veggies : Carrot -1/2( chopped), Capsicum-1/2( chopped),onion-1/2(chopped), Green chilli-2-3( finely chopped), Ginger-1/2 inch( grated)
4.Masalas: salt ( as per taste), Red chilli powder-1/2 tsp, jeera( cumin seeds)-1/2 tsp, Chat masala-1/2 tsp, Baking soda-2 pinch
5.Oil for frying.
Preparation :
1.Take a bowl add sooji/semolina and add curd to it. Mix it well for 5 mins till it becomes fluffy.
2.Add the veggies ( carrot, capsicum, onion, green chilli and grated ginger ).
3.Now add the masalas like salt, red chilli powder, cumin seeds, chat masala. Mix it well and keep it aside for 15 mins.
4.Take a kadai and add oil for frying.Keep on medium flame.
5.Now take small portions of the batter and add it into the oil. Dont touch it as soon as you drop it into the oil, just let it be till it float on its own.
6.Fry it well till golden brown.
7.Serve it with ketchup on a monsoony/ wintery evening.
Note:
1.For crispiness, you can add ghee/ hot oil to the batter.
2.You can add other veggies like beetroot, pumpkin/ bottlegourd to make it healthy. You can add sweetcorn too.
3.You can make it less oil by making it in appe pan.
