Hello blog members, Namaste🙏🏻 Today I am going to share bhaji recipe. We all have eaten bhaji outside on streets. That buttery bhaji taste will be awesome but less healthy. I just tried the recipe with more veggies and less butter at home, ut turned out perfect. So thought of sharing. Lets get started.
Ingredients Reqd :
1.Tomatoes-2 ( roughly chopped)
2.Onion-3(finely chopped)
3.Beetroot-1/2(roughly chopped)/ 3-4 pieces.
4.Carrot-1(Roughly chopped)
5.Cauliflower -4-5 flowerets
6.Potatoes -2( roughly chopped)
7.Green chilli-3
8.Garlic -6-8 pods
9.Ginger-1/2 inch( chopped finely)
10.Green peas-1/2 cup
10.capsicum-1( big size)(finely chopped)
11.Masalas : Pav bhaji masala-2 tsp, Salt( as per taste), Red chilli powder-1 tsp, turmeric powder-1/2 tsp, coriander powder-1 tsp, Garam masala-1/2 tsp, sabzi masala-1/2 tsp, jeera-1 tsp, heeng-2 pinch
12.Oil and ghee for cooking.
13.Garnish it with coriander leaves and finely chopped onions and 1/2 lemon juice.
Preparation:( 25-30 mins)( serves-4 people)
1.First chop all the veggies.( except onion and capsicum).Take a pressure cooker, add 1 tsp ghee-)+1 tsp oil, add jeera, add 1 tsp pav bhaji masala and saute for 2 minutes. And then add the veggies. Add salt, red chilli powder and saute the veggies for 2 mins.
2.Now add 1 glass water( small glass) and close the lid and pressure cook on medium flame for 2 whistles and let it depressurize automatically.
3.Take a kadai/ pan, add oil, then add jeera seeds, heeng and add onions( 2 onions)and capsicum. Roast it till brown. When its roasted, add some salt,coriander powder, red chilli powder, sabzi masala. And then add some water and stir it well.
4.Meanwhile, our veggies will be done. Open the lid of the pressure cooker and then all the veggies should be done. Mash it well with masher.
5.Just make it like paste. If you dont have masher, just let it cool down full, grind it like a paste in grinder.
6.Add the mixture into the onionand capsicum masala. Let it cook for 10 mins. If you feel its thick, add water. Add 1 tsp garam masala. Let it cook.
7.Add 1 tpsoon ghee or a cube of butter as per your wish.
8.Garnish it with coriander leaves.
9.Our homemade bhaji is done.
10. Serve it hot with baked pav. Sprinkle onions(1 onion which is left)and lemon juice.
Note:
1.Use 3 finely chopped onions( 2 for onion + capsicum masala) and 1 for garnishing.
2.If you mash the veggies, you will feel that beetroot does not mash properly. For that 1 more whistle will be needed when you cook veggies.
