Hello friends🙏🏻 Welcome to plates of flavours. Long time right😃. I will share a easy and healthy thepla recipe today.
As winters are here many greens are there in market. I will use spinach here, you can use : spring onion, methi and even radish greens..
Lets get started.
To make palak moong thepla we need:
1.Palak(Spinach): a handfull or acc to your family members- finely chopped.
2.Sabut moong( green moong )-1/2 cup( boiled )
3.Masalas : Jeera-1 tsp, turmeric powder-1/2 tsp, ajwain( carrom seeds)=1/2 tsp, heeng( asafetida- 2 pinch ), Red chilli powder-1/2 tsp, salt( acc to taste), White sesame seeds( til)-1 tsp, sugar -1/2 tsp, chat masala-1/2 tsp, fennel seeds-1/2 tsp.
4.green chilli-1( finely chopped), ginger-1/2 inch( finely chopped).
5.wheat flour-2 cups
6.Oil/ ghee for making thepla.
Procedure:
1.Firstly make a dough of thepla, take a big bowl add atta or wheat flour..
2.Add freshly chopped spinach ( palak),whole moong( boiled) and then spices like salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, heeng, sesame seeds, sugar, chat masala.
3.Add green chilli and ginger and start kneading it. See whether you can knead without water.
4.Add 1 tsp oil in dough as it will be flaky.
5.Once the dough is kneaded. Keep it aside for 15 mins.Apply oil/ ghee on the dough.
6.Now see whether it becomes watery, if it become add some flour and knead it.
7. Now keep a non-stick tawa ready and lets make a thepla.
8.Thepla should be thin as thin you can make. It is not like a paratha.
9.Now roll it thin and place it on tawa and let it cook. Cook it from both sides till flaky.
10.Serve it with tomato ketchup, you can make green chutney also..
11.Our Theplas are ready. Serve it with hot piping tea.
12.You can make Theplas with carrot , beetroot,radish, methi, radish greens and spring onions
