Hello readers🙏🏻 Long time!How have you all being doing? I am good but was little busy.. So lets get away to the recipe.. Today's recipe is one of the easiest yet healthiest recipe. Well beetroot is a power packed vegetable. It has good source of nitrates and hence used in making sabzi( poriyal), Add ons, soups and mainly for adding its beautiful ocean pink color to any food. The Poriyal ( in Tamil ) can we eaten as a side dish with rice, rasam and sambar.
Ingredients needed:
1.Beetroot -1( big size)( chopped in squares)
2.Onion-1( big size)( chopped finely)
3.Green chilli-2( chopped finely)
4.For tempering: cumin seeds(jeera)-1 tsp, mustard seeds( rai)-1/2 tsp, urad dal-1/2 tsp, chana dal-1/2 tsp, curry leaves-7-8,Heeng-a pinch, coriander powder -1 tsp, red chilli powder( deggi mirch)-1/2 tsp, garam masala-1/2 tsp, salt( as needed), oil
5.For garnishing: shredded coconut and coriander leaves.
How to make:
1.Take a beet and wash it thoroughly. Peel it and cut it in small square pieces( be ready to paint your hands in pink😜)
2.Similarly cut the onions finely and green chilli too.
3.Take a pan, add oil, when heated add the masalas like jeera, rai, heeng, dals and roast it till golden brown.
4.Now add green chilli and onion and roast it well and then add the chopped beets.
5.The beets take time to cook. Just cover it and cook for 15-20 mins.
6.Sprinkle some water from top. Add the masalas like salt, coriander powder, red chilli powder and garam masala and mix it well.
7.Finally add dessicated coconut and coriander leaves from top. Our poriyal is done.
8.Enjoy it with rasam and sambar. It goes well with curd rice also.

2.Even it helps in increasing blood in anemic patients.
3.You can cut and apply beetroot on face and your face will become soft and it helps in dry skin.
4.Add beets in sandwiches, fried rice and increase the quality of your food.
5.You can make beet halwa and even raita.
