Herefter I will post research time weekly once.Its a new segment in my blog to know interesting features related to food.It can be a recipe or food or vegetable or basically anything related to food recipes .Pls support this and comment down below about what you want to know related to food.So enough talk lets research about potatoes today mainly the benefits.You might think benefits?Does aloo has any benefit? Like really ? But shockingly yes.
So what comes in your mind after seeing a potato .Its just a potato right.Potato can be used with any vegetable .It is friends with all vegetables.Mostly potatoes are associated with fat.Yes it has carbs we all know that.We say if you wanna diet and loose weight,stop eating potatoes( our beloved lays/chips/wafers).
So potato is useful but has a bad name as it increases fat.But if you use it wisely it will not increase weight.
So lets study some amusing facts on potatoes:
1.Potato is one of the popular vegetable used in the whole world.Its grown worldwide but its origin is in South America.It was first brought to India by Portugals in 16th Century.
2.Potato is full of starch which is its main nutrient.It even contains sodium,potassium,Vitamin A and D.It also has Vitamin C.Potato reduced scurvy disease in Europe.
3.In order to retain its nutrients potato should be cooked with its peel/rind as the peel contains proteins & minerals.But after frying all the nutrients will be lost.
4.You sometimes find green color in potato,cut the green part as it contains solanine which is poisonous.And if you see sprouted potato also dont use it.
5.Potato juice helps in removing toxins from body and helps in arthritis so we can drink 2 tsp of potato juice everyday.
6.The starch of potato helps in reducing swelling of pancreas as it has anti-inflammatory properties.
For Skin:
1.Fresh juice of potato used for acnee-prone skin.It contains potassium,phosphorous and calcium in it which helps in purification of skin.
2.The potato paste is good for acne ,pimples and wrinkles.
3.You can take a slice of potato and rub it on face for just removing the dirt.
How can you use potatoes in recipe:
Well use when boiled,fried or roasted.
Best recipe:French fries
Indian curries: Dum aloo( aloo mein dum hai),Malai kofta and etc etc.
Chaat:Aloo chat,aloo tikki ( well aloo is the main ingredient of all chats).
And how can we forget Aloo prantha with butter ofcourse.....😜
