Hey my blog members! Today I am going to share a healthy recipe of sooji dhokla.
Well dhokla in itself is the healthy breakfast .I am adding bottlegourd to it so that the nutrients of
Bottlegourd/lauki do not get wasted as we dont like that vegetable.
Lets begin the recipe! Lets get started...
Ingredients rqd:
1. Bottlegourd -1/4 cup
2. Rava/sooji/semolina-1 cup(fine)
3.sour curd/sour buttermilk-1 cup
4.Baking powder-1/2 tspoon / ENO-1 Sachet
5.Salt(as per taste)
6.ginger green chilli paste-1 tspoon
7.Oil -2 tspoon
For tempering:'
1.Oil for cooking
2.Curry leaves-6-10
3.Mustard seeds,asafetida/heeng-2 pinch,turmeric,red chilli powder,green chilies-2-3(long slit)
Preparation( Time taken-35-40 mins)(Serves 2 people)
1.Firstly,Take 1 cup of sooji /semolina ina big bowl ,add curd/buttermilk and mix well .Add salt and oil to the mixture and mix it for 5 mins and keep it aside for 15 mins.
2.Now peel the bottlegourd and grate it well and add the chilli ginger paste into the mixture of sooji and mix well.Add turmeric powder and red chilli to the mixture.
3.Now on the flame keep the idly cooker/steamer and place the stand in between add water and let it boil for 10 mins till than our batter will be ready.
4.Now after 15 mins check whether the batter becomes fluffy and water is absorbed and it becomes thick.Add Baking powder to the mixture and add water and adjust the consistency and let it be like idly batter and tap it so that the air bubbles sit.
5.Keep it in the steamer and cook it on medium-high flame for 15-20 mins and after 20 mins check whether its cooked properly .Take a knife and insert in the middle and check whether it comes out clean.Let it cool down and then demould it .
6.Now prepare the tempering,add oil ,then add mustard seeds,heeng and add the curry leaves and let them crackle,Add green chilli and our tempering is ready.
7.Now cut the pieces of dhokla and add in into tempering or you can do vice versa.
8.Our dhokla is ready to be served with green chutney and you can enjoy this healthy breakfast!
